Famous Biologist Biographies

Introduction

The scientific information that we read about in textbooks, find on the Internet, and hear about on the evening news, is the result of hundreds of years of scientific research performed by men and women just like ourselves. Some of these individuals are trained professionals who have dedicated their lives to their research while others are simply people who took an interest in a particular area of study and pursued it as a hobby.

In this assignment you will set out to discover more about the great men and women who have contributed to the vast array of biological information that we possess today.

Activity

* Students are to research the life of 1 famous Biologist if you are working with another student you must choose two and work on them equally.

* Minimum information required as a result of research

* Now here’s the catch!

Your research is not to put together in the traditional project format. ie. Written in long boring paragraphs and put into a folder. Your research must be presented in a more creative format such as the following:

- A newspaper article reporting and explaining important events in which the person was involved

- A color poster about this person and their work

- A webpage

- A news report presented to the class

* Remember that whatever format you choose you must include the research points listed above.
